In June 2016, the Government of Canada passed legislation that legalized Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) in Canada for competent adults. The law sets out specific criteria for someone to be eligible for a medically assisted death.
Canadian Virtual Hospice is currently updating content about MAID, which will be available soon. In the meantime, for more information, please go to the Government of Canada site.
